Prayer Room – Christian City Church

Set within the campus at Oxford Falls this dedicated Prayer Facility was designed as a space of contemplation and serenity. The building form uses the established pyramid roof character of the site combined with a cylindrical room set within an eroded square plan form to create a dynamic building form with large roof overhangs at the entry and balcony side.
The light filled interior is can be an open expansive space or have a more screened and secluded atmosphere.
An abundance of natural light from the oversized skylight and translucent ceiling allows the room to be used during the day more as a shelter than a building, with the large openings allowing for breezes through the space. Light, ventilation and privacy can all be adjusted with the layers of screens, sliding doors and windows.
