hawkesbury showground

project description

As one of the most significant shows in NSW, after the Royal Easter Show, the Hawkesbury Show needed a new grandstand to allow better viewing of the arena events for the show and for its many other uses through the year. Designed as a staged development, the new grandstand includes the seating and roof elements of a longer term masterplan, which includes enclosed function spaces on the upper levels and service rooms under the seating platform. A simple striking form born out of the engineering, the building provides significant amenity at a low budget for the community based facility.
